Apple Adds iPod Bar to Tokyo Store

Apple has added a supplement to the Genius Bar, called the iPod Bar, at its Ginza Store in Tokyo, according to Gizmodo. The iPod Bar works like the Genius Bar, letting iPod owners get in-person technical support and assistance. Although resetting and trouble-shooting iPod related issues isn't usually complex, the iPod Bar will help reduce the wait time at the Genius Bar.

The introduction of the iPod Bar underscores the importance of the iPod to Apple. It also has the added bonus of drawing iPod-toting Windows users into the Apple Store.

There is no word yet on whether or not Apple plans on bringing the iPod Bar to its other stores.

I hope they extend it to the US. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to arrive for an apointment, only to have it delayed by people whose iPod batteries don't hold a charge. They're ususally replaced on the spot, but it takes a lot of paperwork and going into the back room. iPod bar all the way!

It's been in the SoHo store for several weeks.
