iPO at Macworld - Griffin Intros SmartShare Audio Splitter for iPod, Other Devices

SAN FRANCISCO -- Griffin Technology on Thursday introduced SmartShare, a headphone/audio splitter that lets users share audio from an iPod, portable CD or DVD player, laptop computer or other device. It includes a volume control slider in each of its output jacks, so that the audio can be set to each user's preference. Pricing is US$19.99, and the SmartShare will ship next month.

Griffin also announced that it is giving away free copies of its iFill LE software to Macworld Expo attendees. The application records streaming audio from Internet radio stations directly to an iPod, skipping the need to create MP3 files and import them into iTunes first. It features options for organizing files, as well as a graphical editor for correcting mislabeled song and artist tags.

iFill LE is identical to the regular version of iFill, except for the limitation of recording two Internet streams simultaneously. The full version, which sells for US$19.99, can record as many simultaneous audio streams as the user's Internet connection will allow. iFill is compatible with Mac OS X v10.3 or v10.4 and any iPod.
