Apple Files Copyright Suit Against Creative
Tuesday, June 6th, 2006 at 9:45 AM - by
Apple Computer has filed another lawsuit against rival MP3 player manufacturer Creative Technology. Apple claims in its copyright lawsuit and trade complaint that Creative is infringing on three of its patents relating to the use of icons, and displaying and editing data.
According to Channel News Asia, Apple is asking for a court order to stop Creative from committing further breaches, cash damages, and a Trade Commission order blocking the import of Creative's portable music players.
Creative filed a lawsuit against Apple in May, claiming that Apple was violating its patents for on screen navigation, and also asked the U.S. Trade Commission to block the import of iPods. Apple countered with a suit of its own claiming the Creative was violating digital music player patents that it holds.
