AOL Updates Music Now Service

AOL updated its Music Now service on Tuesday, and now offers music videos, streaming XM satellite radio, and a user community. Matching the iTunes Music Store pricing structure, AOL is offering videos for US$1.99 and music tracks for $0.99. It also is offering a subscription service that lets users download as much as they want for $9.95 a month, and for $14.95 a month, they can download and copy music to compatible MP3 players.

The service uses Microsoft's Plays For Sure copy protection, so Mac and iPod users are left out in the cold.
AOL is aggressively working to expand its media offerings. Its Music Now service offers 2.5 million audio tracks and thousands of music videos, and it also just launched a movie download service.
