2G iPod shuffle In Stores Friday

Apple announced on Tuesday that the new second generation iPod shuffle will be available in retail stores this Friday, November 3. Apple also made good on its promise to ship the new shuffle in October by shipping some pre-orders to customers this week.

The second generation iPod shuffle is even smaller than the original model it replaces. It includes an aluminum case instead of plastic, sports a built-in clip and Apple's redesigned earbuds, and 1GB of Flash memory. It is priced at US$79.

"The second generation iPod shuffle is even smaller than the original model it replaces." True. It's 0.01 inch thinner. That's two sheets of 24-lb bond paper or about 4 medium (or 2.5 thick) human hairs. Big deal.
