I believe these are the digitally remastered episodes. Check out the clip for Space Seed - it shows a very clean and crisp Enterprise closing in on a nicely rendered and adrift Botany Bay.

Definitely looks new to me, although I don't have the original episode for comparison. The new effects, at least the ones I've seen so far, look very videogame-y to me. If you're going to upgrade the effects, CBS/Paramount, put more than 10 dollars into it!

Or, you could get the set of DVDs for $51.43, with free shipping. If you want to "save" more, get the complete original series (three seasons) for $137.31, with free shipping, or $45.77 each season.

Based upon my experience with The Daily Show, which runs under 22 minutes, it could easily take 40+ minutes to download an episode, nearly 20 hours total. Each one would be about 560 MB, so you'd have over 16 GB in files.

I believe Costco has also had each season for $45 each.

yes, the are the new ones with updated CGI. Take a look at the preview for the episode "Miri". There are clouds over the planet now, which were added in the update (i.e., the original episode had no clouds on the planet)

Or you could have a cable modem like me, and be able to pull down 500+ MB episodes of Battlestar Galactica in only 10-12 minutes.

It is very cool that classic Trek has FINALLY showed up at the iTunes store. Can't wait to download Balance of Terror and City on the Edge of Forever, which easily stand among the best TV sci-fi EVER.

Almost forgot to mention... The Galileo Seven is also well worth the download. A very underrated episode of Classic Trek, its an early and great test of Spock's character and command.
