2G iPod shuffle Wins Design Award

Apple Inc.'s second generation iPod shuffle took top honors for Best Consumer Product Design at the 2007 Design Week Awards. The shuffle beat out several other products thanks to its overall design, reusable packaging, and value compared to cost.

Sebastian Conran of Conran & Partners was on the judging team. He commented "The quality of Apple's products, packaging and enticing presentation really sets the benchmark and creates a compelling 'itchy wallet' syndrome that makes them so successful."
Other products in consideration for the award included the Trunki suitcase that children can ride while parents pull it through airports, the USB port rechargeable USB Cell batteries, and the Oxo Good Grips Indoor Pour & Store watering can.
