MacService Introduces Apple TV Storage Upgrade
Friday, March 30th, 2007 at 1:30 PM - by
MacService announced on Friday their Apple TV storage upgrade program. The Apple TV is picked up via courier. The hard disk is upgraded by a technician who transfers the previous data to the new drive, tests the system, then returns the Apple TV along with the old drive.
iPO spoke with the president of MacService, Justin Sanderson, who said that after the upgrade, if the modified Apple TV is presented to Apple for warranty service, the warranty will not be honored. He noted, however, that if warranty service is sought, the user should replace the new drive with the old one.
An upgrade to a 160 GB drive provides 200 hours of video and is priced at US$295.
