Texting Junkies Are One of a Type

LG is hosting the National Texting Championship in New York, according to geeksugar.

For those who've wondered if they can text on their mobile phone as fast as Paris Hilton (or Rosario Dawson) here's their chance.

"Players will compete in pools and be asked to type phrases on their enV/V handsets (yes, you have to be an LG user) exactly as they appear with no typos or abbreviations," geeksugar reported. The first contestant to send a specified error free message advances to the next round. As the contest proceeds, the phrases get more difficult.

The West Coast champion has already been crowned. Next stop: the LG National Texting Champion will win a total of US$25,000.00.

Perhaps Apple will catch the fever in June.
