AT&T Staffs Up for iPhone

AT&T has hired 2,000 temporary store workers for its 1,800 U.S. stores in anticipation of the iPhone demand when it goes on sale next Friday at 6:00 PM local time, according to Reuters.

AT&T spokesman Mark Siegel said the company is expecting "significant demand" for the phone.

Mr. Siegel also said that AT&T employees have received an average of six hours of training each for the iPhone. "This is such an important product we want to make sure people are fully informed," when they buy it, Mr. Siegel said.

AT&T stores will close at 4:30 PM local time to prepare for the unveiling. They'll reopen at 6:00 PM and remain open until 10:00 PM.

AT&T has not yet revealed the details of the required two year contract, but that is expected before next Friday.
