iPhone Survives Abuse Tests
Monday, July 2nd, 2007 at 8:55 AM - by
Apple's iPhone looks great out of the box, but how well does it hold up under daily abuse? PC World put a brand new iPhone through a series of stress tests to find out, and discovered that it held up surprisingly well.

The iPhone display survived several encounters with keys -- including intentional scrapes across the surface -- without showing any significant scratches. It also managed to live through a series drops to office floors and concrete sidewalks, dispelling fears that the glass display would shatter if dropped. Only the chrome bezel showed any signs of abuse, and those were superficial.
Based on the PC World stress tests, the iPhone looks to be a durable cell phone and capable of withstanding day-to-day abuse.
