Apple Posts iPod Reset Utility 1.0.2

Apple posted iPod Reset Utility 1.0.2 on Thursday. The utility, for first and second generation iPod shuffles, will restore these iPods back to their factory settings when iTunes is unable to do so.

There is a corresponding version for Windows.

Also, there is an associated article number 305204 explaining what it does, OS restrictions, and issues the utility can deal with.

Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later is required except that Mac OS X 10.2.8 customers using the first generation shuffle can use the original iPod shuffle reset utility described in Apple's artnum 305204.
