Apple Offers Refurb iPhones [UPDATE]

If you are jonesing for an iPhone but want to save a few bucks, Apple is now offering refurbished models at a discount. Just like brand new units, these come with a full one-year warranty and all the fixings that ship with a brand new model, including the dock.

You can find the refurbished iPhones in the Special Deals section at Apple's online store. The 4GB model is priced at US$399.99, and the 8GB model costs $499.99.

[UPDATE: This article was originally posted at 10:45 AM, and was updated at 5:00 PM with information about the dock. - Editor]

By tomorrow morning, they'll be gone...

Same thing often happens with the MacBooks (the white ones, with SuperDrive, that usually go for $950). I guess, very few people return these, and when they do, very many people jump on the chance to get them at 27% off (myself included... )

When somebody returns the item opened, Apple cannot legally sell it new anymore. As such, some people get a good deal.
