Deutsche Telekom Scores iPhone Deal
Monday, September 17th, 2007 at 8:05 AM - by
Deutsche Telekom's T-Mobile cell phone service provider has apparently won a deal to carry Apple's iPhone in most every European country where it has a presence. The agreement means that T-Mobile will be able to offer the combination iPod and smart phone in Austria, the Netherlands, Hungary, Croatia, and Germany, according to MSNBC.
Just like AT&T does in the United States, T-Mobile will share iPhone-related revenues with Apple.
Apple will likely announce the deal with Deutsche Telekom, along with a similar deal with O2 for U.K. iPhone sales, at a press conference at the company's Regent Street store in London on Tuesday. Apple may also announce at the same time that Orange will offer the iPhone in France.
The iPhone is expected to sell for €399 (about US$552). In the U.S., the iPhone sells for US$399.
