iPhone Update 1.1.1 Posted, adds Wi-Fi Music Store and More

On Thursday, Apple posted the anticipated iPhone Update 1.1.1. New features include the addition of the Wi-Fi Music store, louder speaker volume, landscape view of e-mail attachments and more.

The full list of features, seen in iTunes, when the user clicks on Check for Updates, is as follows:

  1. iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store
  2. Louder speakerphone and receiver volume
  3. Home button double-click shortcut to favorites or music controls
  4. Space bar double tap to intelligently insert period or space
  5. Mail attachments viewable in portrait or landscape mode
  6. Stocks and cities in stocks and Weather can be reordered
  7. Apple Bluetooth Headset battery status in Status Bar
  8. Support for TV out
  9. Preference to turn off EDGE when roaming internationally
  10. New Passcode lock time intervals
  11. Adjustable alert volume

Some of these updates were first seen on the iPod touch, others were anticipated such as the Wi-Fi Music Store, and some are welcome refinements of the iPhone interface.

Are any iPhones thick as a brick?

Anyone want to admit to killing (or not) their "hacked" iPhones?

My "hacked" (but not unlocked) iPhone survived just fine.

Apparently podcasts aren't included in the new Wi-Fi Music Store.

Do not worry, my phone has also done that! Annoying, but harmless.

That is good news! I may be getting two iPhones not just one. My wife is hearing impaired, and had trouble hearing a call on the iPhone. She has a cochlear implant and can hear pretty well using her TREO and most other phones, but that iPhone was a problem. She can plug an iPhone, iPod, or other device into the processor for the implant using an audio cable, but it is not convenient.
