Effects of iPhone Update 1.1.1 Being Assessed
Thursday, September 27th, 2007 at 5:05 PM - by
There seems to be no widespread reports of any iPhone becoming permanently inoperable, at least yet, according to Pocket-lint on Thursday. However, even pristine iPhones are having problems.
Some phones that had been unlocked were relocked and a message that reported an incorrect SIM appeared. All third party widgets and apps were removed by the update.
At iPod Lounge, Jeremy Horwitz reported some problems with the first attempt to update a pristine iPhone. This reporter also had considerable problems with a pristine phone on the original Mac it was synced to and had to start all over on another Mac. The iPhone is no longer recognized by a PowerMac G5 but is syncing properly to a MacBook Pro.
iPO will continue to monitor the situation and report on problems with pristine iPhones and this September update.
