iTunes Sales Come to Ticketmaster

Ticketmaster and Apple expanded the iTunes Store music + tickets program so that customers can purchase tickets and digital albums at the same time on the Ticketmaster Web site. Over 700 musical acts are available in the music + tickets program including Kanye West, Keith Urban, Modest Mouse and Bon Jovi.

Customers can also purchase Ticketmaster + iTunes gift card packs at Target stores in the U.S. Each gift pack includes a US$25 card for the iTunes Store, and a $25 card for Ticketmaster. Multiple gift cards can be used in a single purchase, and there are no expiration dates on the cards.

Ticketmaster is also offering a $1 discount through December 29 for every iTunes digital album sold through its Web site.

As much as I dislike TicketMaster, I gotta say that I think this will strengthen Apple's hand when they are negotiating with the recording companies, and IMO that's a good thing.
