Apple Confirms iPhone 1.1.2 Coming Friday
Thursday, November 8th, 2007 at 10:25 AM - by
Word surfaced earlier this week that Apple would be releasing iPhone Software Update 1.1.2 on Friday along with its U.K. and Germany product launch. Now it appears that Apple is confirming the update really is on the way, according to Pocket-lint.
The news came from Apple's U.K. press team during briefing Thursday morning.
iPhone Software 1.1.2 will include support for several languages, international keyboards, and Cloud Wi-Fi support for U.K. users. The update will also most likely kill any unauthorized applications on phones that have gone through a "jailbreak" process, and may also disable any units that have been unlocked to work outside of Apple's exclusive service providers. iPhone owners will, however, have the option to opt out of the update.
Apple has not stated when on Friday the update will be available, but like prior iPhone updates, it will be installed via the iTunes application.
