5G iPod Software Update 1.2.3 Fixes Content Display Problem

Apple released iPod Software Update 1.2.3 for the fifth generation iPod on Wednesday. The update addresses an issue introduced with Update 1.2.2 that could cause an iPod to stop displaying songs or device content. iPod Software Update 1.2.3 is free and available through iTunes.

my iPod froze while installing this update and now it doesn't work at all

This update refuses to install because it claims I am not connected to the internet, when I clearly am.
