Amazon, Pepsi Team for Free MP3s
Monday, January 14th, 2008 at 3:00 PM - by
Amazon and Pepsi announced on Monday that they are teaming up to offer free MP3 song downloads starting in February. Pepsi customers can collect points for their purchases that can be redeemed for DRM-free songs at the Amazon MP3 Web site.
Pepsi plans to distribute four billion specially marked product packages with redeemable Pepsi Stuff points. Amazon MP3 songs will cost Pepsi drinker five points.
Apple and Pepsi have teamed up for similar free song promotions in the past, although the iTunes Store giveaways included complete redemption codes under random bottle caps.
