Intermedia Offers Business Email on Updated iPod touch

Intermedia has announced that its Microsoft Exchange 2007-based email services are now available to any iPod touch owner running the Mail application Apple added to the device this week. Intermedia customers can use secure IMAP to download email and receive PDF, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel attachments. The company already offers its services to iPhone users.

So, how exactly is this different from going to the Exchange Server and clicking the 'enable IMAP' checkbox? Or is this one of those 'run a server on your own machine to work around your lame IT department' products?
