Apple Intros 32GB iPod touch

Apple announced the immediate availability a new 32GB iPod touch along with the 16GB iPhone on Tuesday. The new iPod touch joins the current lineup and offers twice as much memory as the previous highest capacity model.


Apple's 32GB iPod touch

Like the 8GB and 16GB iPod touch, the 32GB model includes a multi-touch wide-screen interface, built-in Wi-Fi, music and video playback, iCal, Mail, Safari, Address Book, Stocks, Weather, and Google Maps with location finder.

The 32GB iPod touch is priced at US$499. The 16GB model is priced at $399, and the 8GB model costs $299.

Man, I wish Apple would just hurry up and throw in the 160Gb drive from the iPod Classic into the iPod Touch. I wouldn't care if it made the Touch a little thicker [due to the drive and perhaps a larger battery].

What did I pay for my 60GB 5G "iPod Video" two years ago? I'm not sure I want to remember.

Guest, I have a phone that supports A2DP. Seeing as the headphones (on sale!) would cost twice what I paid for the phone, I've not been in a hurry to get a set. Too bad; I could stick a GB of music on its microSD card & not have to carry it *and* the iPod around. 'Course, I'll probably get an iPhone when it comes time to replace the current phone — maybe they'll have the 3G-capable version out by then.
