According to the latest statistics there are a bit over three divorces in every group of a thousand Americans. That number doesn't seem like much until you consider the fact there are more than 280 million Americans. That means every year about one million couples untie the knot, and it's a bit sobering to think there are that many unhappy marriages out there.

In any case, being newly unhitched or perpetually single means that you are most likely in, thinking about being in, or long to be in a relationship. Dealing with a potential significant other can be an ordeal fraught with unknowns, but then, what in life isn't? Still, watching people find other people can be a hoot, at least that's the apparent thinking behind Unhitched, a new show on Fox.

Craig Bierko is Jack 'Gator' Gately who, along with friends Freddy and Tommy, are recently divorced and looking for love. The show has potential. There were more than a few snicker-points as well as some down-right silly scenes in the free premier episode available at the iTunes Store. There's also a free Behind the Scenes download as well.

Free comedy about divorced people. It could be worse; It could be a show about nothing.

From adults learning (or relearning) the rules of love we now go to kids learning about life. We're talking really basic stuff here: Pre-school territory.

If you've got a rug-runt running around under foot then you more than likely are already familiar with the PBS Kids show, Sprout. For the uninitiated, Sprout is a collection of child-oriented shows in the same ballpark as Barney and Sesame Street. These shows teach your wee ones about music, crafts, and the world beyond the front door.

There's a lot of songs, bright colors, syrupy-cute characters and more. Plenty to keep your nuclear powered three year old happy for at least two minutes. I'm actually fond of The Good Night Show, kind of a David Letterman for the potty training set. The plushy co-host, Star, bothers me a bit, but the show is laid back and easy, just right for pre-bedtime TV watching.

(What bothers me about Star has nothing to do with its sexual orientation, imagined or otherwise. I'm just not overly keen on chubby talking celestial objects. Weird, I know, but that's just me.)

There are plenty of Sprout episodes to watch so your kid can have a new Sprout show everyday for several weeks. Check out Sprout at the iTunes Store.

While we're on the subject of kids shows why not take a look at Stunt Kitty.

OK, this is not a kids shows, but it could very well be mistaken for a one, until the stunts happen.

Stunt Kitty is a daredevil kitten hellbent on performing all sorts of breathtaking stunts. (Hence, the name.) If it was some grungy old alcoholic White dude dressed in those leather tights I wouldn't bother recommending this, but seeing as how it's a cute kitty, well, that's an entirely different matter. I mean, everybody loves a kitten, right? Put that kitten on a rocket sled and point it to the far side of a rocky canyon and you've got something that's just plain irresistible.

And on a final note: I know you must be sick of me telling you about the new games available now for your iPod, but I do it because it's amazing to me the quantity and quality of the games coming out for the iPod. We are not talking Playstation Portable quality here, but what is being offered works great given the limitations of the iPod as a gaming platform.

Mini Golf is cute, but the real gem is Scrabble, which has been one of my favorite games since... well, for a very long time. This version is remarkably playable, even on an iPod nano. There's a bunch of options for solo or multiplayer games, and the computer dictionary is surprisingly sophisticated. (Though it did not like "quo." That would have made a great triple word play! Grrrr!)

Scrabble is better than a time waster because you're exercising the gray matter, which is never a bad thing. Scrabble isÊdefinitely worth your five bucks.
