McCartney: Beatles Coming to iTunes
Friday, March 7th, 2008 at 12:35 PM - by
The Beatles library may be coming to the iTunes Store sooner instead of later now that band alumni Sir Paul McCartney is ready unleash the group's works on the digital download world. McCartney plans to bring the Beatles to the iTunes Store in the next few months following the completion of his divorce from Heather Mills, according to This is London.
The band's works haven't been able to join the online age thanks to a series of legal headaches -- the last of which is likely Sir McCartney's divorce. Once wrapped up, Apple Corps should be able to begin the groundwork necessary to get the group's works online.
There isn't any word yet on when to expect to see the Fab Four at the iTunes Store, but odds are Sir McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the estates of John Lennon and George Harrison would like to see something happen quickly since the works are estimated to be worth some £200 million (about US$402.89 million).
