No iPhones in NYC Apple Stores
Wednesday, March 26th, 2008 at 8:15 AM - by
You may be able to see iPhones everywhere in New York City, but you can't buy one in any of Apple's Big Apple stores. Apparently all three of the stores are sold out, and there is no word on when to expect new shipments to arrive, according to The Huffington Post.
New York's lack of iPhone stock seems to be limited, however, to Apple's retail locations. Many of the city's AT&T Wireless stores still have the combination iPod and smart phone in stock.
Apple Store employees have been suggesting that hopeful buyers use the company's online store to fill their iPhone fix, but that won't take care of instant gratification. As of Wednesday morning, Apple's online store was showing a five to seven day wait for both the 8GB and 16GB models.
While thoughts of 3G second generation iPhones dance in consumer's heads because limited product supply could be an indicator that new iPhone models are about to be released, the lack of product might also be a side effect of production or shipping delays.
