iPhone Unavailable at US, UK Apple Store

If you can't find an iPhone is Apple's retail stores, don't bother looking to the company's online store in the U.S. or U.K. since both are listing the combination iPod and smart phone as "Currently Unavailable." Neither online store offered a time frame for availability or a reason why the handheld device was unavailable.
Both online stores showed the iPhone available last week, although in the U.S. there was a five to seven day ship time.
Apple has drained product supply channels in the past before launching new models, which adds more credibility to the rumors that the company is prepping to release something new. This also marks the first time Apple has listed the iPhone as unavailable.
AT&T supposedly issued an internal memo last week warning its store employees to avoid vacations between June 15 and July 12 for "an exciting Summer Promotional Launch." O2 and Carphone Warehouse in the U.K. also have run out of iPhone inventory.
Analysts are expecting Apple to announce new iPhone models with 3G wireless network support during the company's World Wide Developer Conference in early June.
