Apple Confirms a Steve Jobs WWDC Keynote Address

There has been no official announcement from Apple, however, as expected, Steve Jobs will give the keynote address at WWDC according to Apple Public Relations.
Mr. Jobs is expected to officially announce the iPhone 3G at his WWDC keynote address.
Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster said on Monday that the out of stock condition of the current iPhone model "indicates that the release of a 3G iPhone is imminent." Mr. Jaffray told investors that a June launch of the iPhone would offset lower sales in May due to the out of stock condition.
While some have speculated that the iPhone 3G announcement could come early, it's isn't likely that Mr. Jobs would pass up the opportunity to unveil a 3G phone, especially if it has both new capabilities and a new case design, according to speculation.
In addition, Apple's Tim Cook has admitted that the post holiday season demand for the iPhone was stronger than expected. Some observers are also speculating that the trickle of announcements from foreign carriers is being used as PR tool to keep interest in the iPhone high, despite the out of stock condition, until the 3G phones become available.
