Orange Gets Europe, Middle East, Africa iPhone Deal

Orange is moving its iPhone reach beyond France thanks to a new multi-country deal with Apple that was announced on Friday. The agreement will make Orange the official iPhone carrier in several European countries, the Middle East, and parts of Africa before the end of 2008.

Apple's deal with Orange will bring the iPhone to Austria, Belgium, the Dominican Republic, Egypt, Jordan, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Switzerland and Orange's African markets.

Staying true to form with the other recently announced iPhone partnerships from other parts of the world, Orange is not elaborating on other terms of the deal, what customers will pay, or exactly when the rollout will happen. Other carriers that have announced iPhone deals in the past few weeks include Vodafone, Rogers, American Mobile, and Swisscom.

The iPhone is currently available in the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany and Austria. The company plans to sell 10 million units by the end of 2008.
