Forbes: Second Gen iPhone Already in the US

Not a single person on the inside has been willing to offer tangible details on Apple's second generation iPhone, but if Forbes is correct, it is already hiding inside the United States. Apparently the Cupertino company has been sneaking the new model into the country by the millions.

Apple has been allegedly moving massive quantities of its new iPhone into the U.S. since March, well ahead of the rumored launch at June's World Wide Developer Conference. CEO Steve Jobs is scheduled to speak at the event, adding more fuel to the rumor fire.

The key to the Forbes conclusion comes from ImportGenius.com, a company that researches private and public shipping records. According to the company, Apple has been taking delivery of shipping containers since mid-March and transporting them from the Port of Oakland in California to a Fremont-based distribution center.

The contents of those containers is unknown, but presumed to be the highly anticipated second generation iPhone. The timing, however, seems a bit off. If the containers did house the second generation iPhone, that means Apple is willing to sit on the inventory for at least two months before pushing it out to the market -- a potentially costly move since the current inventory of first generation iPhones has all but dried up.

The Cupertino company has also been striking deals with cell carriers around the world with plans for product launches before the end of 2008.

No one is saying what was in those mystery shipping containers Apple received, and it appears that no insiders are willing to break the silence and offer up proof of what they held. Until Mr. Jobs graces the public with the next latest-and-greatest offering from Cupertino, the contents of those containers will remain a mystery, leaving us with nothing but analyst speculation.

I hope the new iPhone lets you text sideways, sort of how you can browse the net and type the web address horizontally. That would be nice and alot easier to text

While there are many types in the article, it has just as many typos as you have in your post
