Hidden Web Page Reveals Movistar as Spain's iPhone Partner
Monday, June 2nd, 2008 at 8:15 AM - by
Telefonica's cell division, Movistar, inadvertently let slip that it will be Apple's official iPhone partner in Spain when Apple Weblog discovered a hidden Web page promoting the combination iPod and smart phone. The Movistar Web page wasn't accessible for long, and it did not offer an iPhone launch date, or service pricing plans.
It looks like once the site officially goes live, users can sign up to get more information about the iPhone launch, much like customers in the United States were able to do in the months leading up to the first iPhone roll out.
Telefonica confirmed in September 2007 that it was negotiating with Apple to carry the iPhone in Spain, but has not yet officially announced a deal.
