Google Intros Google Talk for iPhone
Thursday, July 3rd, 2008 at 12:05 PM - by
Google introduced a Web-based version of its Google Talk interface on Thursday designed for iPhone and iPod touch users. The app gives users full access to their Google Talk account without having to install any extra software.
The Web-based interface works like its desktop application counterpart, except that it must be the currently active Web page in Mobile Safari. Switching to a different Web page will change your status to "unavailable," but your status returns to "available" as soon as the Google Talk page is active again.
Google Talk for the iPhone and iPod touch is free to use and requires a free Google account.
