Apple: What to Bring When Buying iPhone 3G
Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 at 4:05 PM - by
Apple has posted a note on what to bring with you to the store when buying an iPhone 3G. In-store activation will be required, and that dictates the items you'll have to bring along.
In order to be ready to make calls on the spot, Apple says you must bring:
- Credit card
- Social security number
- Valid, government-issued photo ID
- Your current wireless account number and password or PIN (if you're new to AT&T)
AT&T has told TMO that current iPhone customers who upgrade will not be required to bring their old iPhone 2G with them. However, that current account number and PIN for switchers could be easily forgotten.
Apple also reminded customers to sync that iPhone 2G one last time before heading out the door.
On Monday, Apple published a Support Article # HT2109 on upgrading to an iPhone 3G.
