ars technica Reviews iPhone 3G in Detail
Monday, July 14th, 2008 at 3:40 PM - by
An extensive review of the iPhone 3G was published by ars technica on Monday. Notable in the review are photographs that compare the iPhone 2G and iPhone 3G in detail and an extensive discussion of what's new and the enterprise readiness of Apple's latest incarnation of the iPhone.
Jacqui Cheng, David Chartier and Clint Ecker published an eight page review of the iPhone that covered a lot of ground and is essential reading for anyone who's contemplating the purchase of the iPhone 3G.

A considerable amount of ground is covered by the experts on Apple technology: the Second Coming, The Little Things; Hitting the 3G-spot; Exchange and Mobile Me; App Store and GPS; Hacks, Battery Life and Durability; Dissection Analysis and Conclusion.
Noteworthy are the many speed tests conducted in Chicago (Part 3) and the critical discussion about the remaining and deeper weaknesses of the iPhone in terms of enterprise use with MS Exchange (Part 4). In addition, the authors discussed the components and construction with images from iFixit.
The tour de force review stands far above most reviews, and in what could be called, "iPhone 3G: the missing review," the enormous detail will also be an informative reference for those who've already purchased an iPhone 3G.
