Apple Store Spotlight - Bloomberg LP - Financial Information on Your iPhone
Friday, July 18th, 2008 at 4:30 PM - by
Apple has long provided a stock market tracker on the iPhone, but Bloomberg has released a free app called Bloomberg LP that offers far more than the default app. The version I installed is version 1.1, an 0.8MB download from the App Store.
There are four basic screens in Bloomberg LP: About, World Markets, My Stocks, and Stock Finder. World Markets offers a snapshot of all the world's major and minor stock markets, including STOXX, FTSE, BOVESPA, and SMI, not to mention the usual NASDAQ, DOW, S&P and NIKKEI.
The My Stocks screen offers a rundown of whatever personal stocks you have entered, like Apple's default stock ticker, but it adds an additional page of information, as shown in the screenshot below. You get the day's high and low, volume, a 52-week summary with high and low, as well as the P/E ratio. Even better, there are news stories involving each company that will open up to the full Bloomberg story without moving to Safari.
This is a great too for stock junkies.
