App Store Spotlight - FMTouch Adds FileMaker Support to the iPhone

FMWebschool announced the immediate availability of FMTouch for the iPhone and iPod touch on Friday. FMTouch lets users access FileMaker Pro 8 or 9 databases on their handheld and does not require an Internet connection.

FMTouch supports relational databases, can access multiple databases, syncs changes with your computer, auto-dials phone numbers in database fields, includes design tools for building iPhone and iPod touch interfaces, and more.

FMTouch is priced at US$99.99 and is available at Apple's App Store.

I've been begging and pleading for Filemaker to be decently ported to Blackberry! Oh please don't make me get an iPhone because of this...

And so it begins. The tip of the iceberg. I have been in computers and controls for 50+ years. IMHO, this is the "next big thing" [sorry] - an example of the sea change the iphone really represents - not the games and freebies, but serious mobile computing with remote database access. Next comes remote data collection from iphones. then . . .
