Mobile Computer Pits BlackBerry Bold Against iPhone 2G (with video)
Thursday, August 21st, 2008 at 3:55 PM - by
Mobile Computer has a video comparing the performance of the Web browser in the BlackBerry Bold to Safari on an iPhone 2G. It was a poor showing for the Bold.
The article discusses the cosmetic changes RIm made to the Bold's interface and finished with a video that shows how much faster Safari is on the iPhone 2G.
The demonstration pointed out that it was impossible to utilize Wi-Fi on the Bold with the 3G network turned off, and that's why the 3G network icon showed up as active on the Bold. In comparing the Wi-Fi browsing speeds, a fixed standard for comparison, Julian Prokaza wrote: "Either Apple is doing something right or RIM is doing something wrong with their respective web browsers, but whatever the case, it's a pretty poor show for the Bold."
