OLO Plans iPhone-powered Laptop

OLO Computer is hoping to add a new twist to the iPhone accessory lineup by turning the combination iPod and smartphone into the heart of a new laptop. The company is offering little more than a picture of its iPhone-based laptop so far, which shows the handheld docked where a trackpad usually sits.

OLO's iPhone laptop.

The MacBook-styled computer looks to be running Mac OS X, which could be a sticking point with Apple if the company's hardware hasn't received a blessing from Cupertino. It also includes what appears to be a camera in the display bezel along with a keyboard that matches the chicklet keys found on Apple's own MacBook and aluminum keyboards.

There's no word on how a iPhone would be used in conjunction with the computer, although it's likely it could serve as a data storage device and as a trackpad.

OLO isn't sharing any more details about its iPhone laptop yet other than to say it is "coming soon."

It looks interesting, but so far all they have is a photoshopped picture of a Macbook. I won't get excited until we see actual hardware.
