Google Officially Adds Voice Search to Google Mobile on iPhone
Tuesday, November 18th, 2008 at 4:40 PM - by
Google officially added voice search to its Google Mobile application for the iPhone late on Monday, a feature widely expected starting the week before. The voice search feature allows users to speak their search queries into their iPhone, rather than typing them.
As is the case with everything else Google, Google Mobile is still in beta, and as of this writing was showing up in the App Store as version 0.3.142.
Google Mobile is free, and it's available at the App Store at iTunes. If you've already installed it, you can update it through the App Store application on your iPhone, or through the update feature when your iPhone is connected to your Mac or PC.
John Martellaro, Senior Editor - Reviews & Analysis, will be offering a First Look at the new service Wednesday afternoon on iPodObserver.com. We'll be looking at performance and accuracy, and we're looking for reader feedback and input on this, as well.
