Wednesday, November 19th, 2008 at 4:20 PM - by
Ben Kazez and FlightView announced the immediate availability of FlightTrack for the iPhone and iPod touch on Wednesday. The app provides professional, real-time maps and flight status information.
With FlightTrack, users can view flight maps and flight routes in real time, check estimated flight arrival and departure times, create itineraries for upcoming trips, and save any number of flights for simultaneous flight tracking, Ben Kazez told iPO

Additional features include the ability to observe current weather and its potential impact on flights, see current aircraft speed and altitude, search by airports, cities, or airline and flight number. FlightTrack's revolutionary offline mode saves last known flight information every five minutes for later viewing anytime, even while on an airplane or outside cell coverage.
"Seeing the airplane on the map with real-time weather radar allows users to predict flight delays and track flights with incredible accuracy," Mr. Kazez said.
FlightTrack accesses FlightView, a software service used by the U.S. Government, airlines, airports and other professional air transportation organizations. "The FlightTrack application is another way that customers can ease the stress of traveling," said Mike Benjamin, CEO of FlightView. "Having this information in the palm of their hand helps them plan and travel without all the anxiety."
FlightTrack for iPhone and iPod touch requires OS X iPhone 2.1 or later. It is immediately available and priced at US$4.99.
