The Flux has announced the 2007 edition of its iPod Film Festival, which debuted last year with entries from 11 countries. Thanks to sponsorship from Small Dog Electronics, the festival is free to enter this year, with an iPod awarded to the winner in each category and a Mac mini computer given to the Best of Fest recipient.
There are three categories in this years contest: Student Film, Independent Film, and The Kitchen Sink. "Please no skateboard crashes, and no Mentos and Diet Coke videos," said the iPod Film Festival Web page. "This is probably a good time to point out that we reserve the right to reject or re-categorize any entry."
All entries must be formatted for playback on an iPod and will be accepted on DVD or miniDV through March 18, 2007. All of the entries will become available for viewing on April 1 and voting will close on June 1, with the winners announced on June 15. The voting will consist of viewers picks as well as a professional panel. All entries must be no longer than ten minutes and cannot contain any copyrighted material not owned by the creator of the film.
