AT&T COO: iPhone Will Ship In June

Following rumors that Apple's iPhone will be delayed and miss its June ship date, AT&T Chief Operating Officer Randall Stephenson confirmed that the combination iPod/smart phone is still on track and will ship on time. "The iPhone is on target to launch in June," he said, according to the Financial Times.
Mr. Stephenson added that over a million customers have expressed interest in purchasing an iPhone. The actual number of units that will be initially available, however, remains to be seen.
"We're sorting through that right now. We got a million people waiting to buy it so we're hoping we get a million," he said.
Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone during Macworld Expo 2007 in January where he took most of his presentation to show off the iPod and smart phone features that are built in to the unit.
