Apple TV Update Addresses YouTube, Security

In addition to adding YouTube support to the Apple TV, the update Apple released on Wednesday also beefs up security on the home media device. The security update addresses an issue that could potentially allow a remote attacker to cause a denial of service or execute arbitrary code.
Apple TV users can install the Apple TV 1.1 update by using the device’s built-in software update feature. It can be accessed by selecting Settings > Update Software from the Apple TV menu.
Alternately, users can wait for the weekly auto-update schedule to download and install the update. Depending on when each unit checks, the update could take up to a week to install.
The Apple TV 1.1 update is free for all Apple TV owners.
