Apple Tops 2 Billion Songs Downloaded from iTunes

SAN FRANCISCO -- Apple Inc. has sold more than two billion songs on iTunes, with one billion of them in just the last year. Apple CEO Steve Jobs announced Tuesday during the Macworld Expo keynote that iTunes has sold some 50 million TV shows and 1.3 million full-length movies.
"iTunes has crossed another major milestone by selling over two billion songs -- with over a billion of them sold in the last year alone -- making it by far the world's most popular music store," said Mr. Jobs. "And by selling 50 million TV shows and over 1.3 million movies to date, iTunes is already the largest online video store in the world as well."
The company is also touting the fact that there are four million songs being offered on the service, as well as 50 250 feature films (courtesy of the company's new deal with Paramount), and 350 TV shows.
