Apple Updates iTunes for Tiger to Version 4.8

Apple Computer has quietly updated iTunes to version 4.8. The release notes for the update are light on details for it being a .x release, and say simply that it includes "new Music Store features and support for transferring contacts and calendars from your computer to your iPod."
The features relating to contacts and calendars are only for Mac OS X 10.4 "Tiger," which Apple released in April. iTunes 4.8 as a whole, however, works with Mac OS X 10.2.8 and above.
The Windows version of iTunes 4.8 requires Windows XP or Windows 2000. Apple recommends the latest service packs for these versions of Windows, as well.
The download is 11 megabytes in size, and is currently only available through the iTunes download Web page. As of this writing, it is not available through Software Update, but your mileage may vary.
