Apple: iPhone Coming June 29

Apple released a series of iPhone commercials on Sunday that show off the combination iPod and smartphone’s features, and also reveal when customers can expect to get one of their own: June 29. The three commercials all tout different iPhone features, but all end with the "Coming June 29."

Analysts and consumers have been debating exactly when Apple would release the iPhone after the Cupertino company announced that it would not be available until June. Company officials later offered the vague "late June" window, but wouldn’t elaborate on the actual date.

Rumors had pegged the release date as early as June 5 along with several other dates throughout June. Many assumed that the iPhone would be released on a Tuesday since Apple has a track record of using the day for new product announcements. Instead, this release will happen on a Friday.
