Apple iPhone: Will It Laser?

A 35 Watt laser engraving system at 40% power was used to experimentally etch a design on an Apple iPhone. A video of the actual engraving, with crossed fingers, was posted at Make:
Unlike the iPod which has offered custom engraving, the iPhone does not. So some fellows eager to experiment, turned their Epilog laser engraving engine on an iPod with a custom design, set the system for 40% power, 100% speed, and a 600dpi vector art image.
The YouTube video and still pictures show the successful results. It wasnt quite as risky as a blender.
