Aspyr Reveals Further iPhone Plans
Sunday, November 16th, 2008 at 3:00 PM - by .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
Last Friday, Aspyr Media released its first iPhone game, Buggled, which challenges players to keep their fingers on ladybugs and prevent them from flying away. On Monday, the company unveiled plans to release another game, as well as a toy and an app, later this year.
The next game goes by the working title of Penguin Slider. Its a variation on the traditional marble-in-a-maze labyrinth game in which players guide a penguin around the ice to its fishing hole. The toy is called Voodude, and it allows players to snap someones picture and turn them into a doll that can be poked, prodded, and generally abused, with realistic ragdoll physics applied. Finally, the app is called FriendZoo, and it turns contact list names into pictures of animals in a zoo exhibit, where the most popular attractions are the people the user speaks with most.
Pricing and specific release dates are not available yet. Aspyr, which began its life as a Mac game publisher, is no stranger to handheld gaming, having published titles for the Nintendo DS and Pocket PC platforms. The company also currently publishes a variety of Windows games.
