    • Punk rock is mostly associated with three chords and a bad attitude, but the Damned were one of the few bands of the era bent on bringing musicianship and a good sense of humor to the scene. And while

    • Another of my all-time favorites, Priest = Aura is one of those rare albums where every song is simply fantastic, and a testament to how good pop-rock can be.

    • Guitar-driven rock out of Australia, Powderfinger has not seen much exposure in the States, but should get a nod for their toe-tapping songs. Building off their previous release, "Internationalist" (

    • Amon Tobin
    • The genius is in the beats. Amon Tobin creates fantastic, groovy beats behind beats. "Supermodified" rolls through your expectations of breakbeat music, and turns them up a bit. It's a mellow album, p

    • "Black Milk" knocks me off my feet in this collection of moody and eclectic songs. Massive Attack uses samples and keyboards in a very unique way, but not all the songs pack the same punch.

Bloomberg LP - Financial Information on Your iPhone

Apple has long provided a stock market tracker on the iPhone, but Bloomberg has released a free app called Bloomberg LP that offers far more than the default app. The version I installed is version 1.1, an 0.8MB download from the App Store.

There are four basic screens in Bloomberg LP: About, World Markets, My Stocks, and Stock Finder. World Markets offers a snapshot of all the worldis major and minor stock markets, including STOXX, FTSE, BOVESPA, and SMI, not to mention the usual NASDAQ, DOW, S&P and NIKKEI.

The My Stocks screen offers a rundown of whatever personal stocks you have entered, like Appleis default stock ticker, but it adds an additional page of information, as shown in the screenshot below. You get the dayis high and low, volume, a 52-week summary with high and low, as well as the P/E ratio. Even better, there are news stories involving each company that will open up to the full Bloomberg story without moving to Safari.

This is a great too for stock junkies.
