- Spoon
Gimme Fiction by Spoon is a terrific album by an Austin band that I was lucky enough to catch on an Austin radio station during a Christmas visit.
- Asylum Street Spankers
The Asylum Street Spankers are...well...The Spankers. Hailing from Austin, where I saw them live dozens of times, the band played entirely acousti
- Rush
- We all know it, right? Well, ya just gotta have it. 2112 finally showed Rush out on their own, doing their own thing, and doing it well, IMHO.
- Fantomas
Mike Patton may well be one of the hardest working men in showbiz these days, and his latest with Fantômas underscores just about how far out he is willing to travel.
Suspended Animation
- Goldfrapp
On their latest CD, Supernature, Goldfrapp has put together a successful mix of 1980-era New Romanticism, German cabaret, and T. Rex glam that leaves you riveted even through the album's lulls. It's a great amalgam that sounds current without sounding at all dated.

Checking iPhone, iPod touch Software Version Numbers
Tuesday, September 9th, 2008 at 4:00 PM - by Jeff Gamet
The iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod touch all run a version of OS X, just like the Mac, and that software occasionally gets updated. If you arent sure if your iPhone or iPod touch is running the most recent software version, its easy to check and you dont have to plug your handheld into your computer to do it.
To check your software version on your iPhone or iPod touch, do this:
- Tap Settings.
- Select the General option.
- Tap About.
The About screen shows your software version and more. |
---|
The About screen shows all kinds of information about your handheld like how many songs and videos are available, how much storage space is left, your serial number, and of course, which software version number you are using. In my case, my iPhone 3G is running software version 2.0.2 (5C1).
Connecting your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer and launching iTunes will let you see which software version you are running as well, but sometimes its nice to be able to check when you are away from your computer, too.
