Creative Goes after iPod shuffle with Stone

Creative is attempting to take a shot at Apple’s iPod shuffle with its new Zen Stone MP3 player. It sports features similar to the iPod shuffle with 1GB of storage, a 10 hour battery life, is available in several colors, and includes controls that look much like the shuffle’s. In comparison, the iPod shuffle offers 12 hours of battery life, supports more audio formats, is Mac and Windows compatible, and includes a built-in clip.

The Zen Stone is cheaper at US$39.99 compared to the iPod shuffle’s $79 price tag, but it is bigger. The Zen Stone weighs .59 ounces, where the iPod shuffle is .55 ounces, and it measures 2.11 x 1.39 x .5 inches, and the shuffle measures in at 1.07 x 1.62 x 0.41 inches including the built-in clip.
